Rochester, MN - THE YARD SPORTS TRAINING and GREAT LAKES BASEBALL
ACADEMY have reached a partnership that will bring the club and their coaching staff
into the Rochester community.
Great Lakes Baseball Academy, which was founded by St. Charles native Brian
Bambenek, will offer a variety of private, small group, and team training services for
players 10-18 years of age. Their instructors will begin running small group and private
lessons at The Yard on Saturday and Sunday mornings. They will also be running
youth spring teams at the 10U-14U level that will participate in two spring tournaments
in early April.
"We're excited to partner with The Yard and look forward to the new relationships that
comes with moving into a new community. We look forward to working with some of the
local high schools and youth programs in Rochester to help grow the game of baseball
in and around the Rochester.", said Great Lakes owner Brian Bambenek.
“My son has played for Great Lakes since he was 12 and every year we continue to be
impressed with their culture and detailed instruction Brian and his staff provide. There
are so many training facilities in the state but few do it like Great Lakes and their group,”
said Andrew Davick, Co-Owner of The Yard.
Great Lakes currently runs their baseball programming out of their two facilities in the
Minneapolis Metro as they work with over 1,100 youth players annually. Along with
running private and small group lesson and club teams, Great Lakes also works with
numerous youth baseball association throughout the Twin Cities metro.
"We've been in club baseball for seven years and its been a dream of mine to one day to
bring the Great Lakes culture and experience back home to my old stomping grounds.",
added Bambenek.
Great Lakes will officially start running private and small group lessons on Sunday,
